Frequently Asked Questions
My child’s baby teeth will just fall out, does it really matter if they get a dental cavity?
Yes! Cavities are the most common preventable childhood disease. Most children start losing teeth quite young and adult or permanent teeth can start coming through as young as 6 years old! It’s important to look after baby teeth and develop habits that will support healthy permanent teeth. Habits developed in childhood are often lifelong! Additionally, many nutrition habits that support oral health are also important for overall health.
My current dental clinic isn’t one of your partner clinics, can I still see you?
Yes! Virtual and phone appointments are available to all residents of Alberta. The Dental Dietitian is located and registered in Alberta but may be able to provide virtual services to clients with an address in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador. I want to see a dietitian for a different concern, do you offer nutrition counselling for other concerns?
Yes! My interests outside of oral health include cooking skills and meal planning, chronic disease management (diabetes, heart disease, weight management, and fatty liver), PCOS, ADHD nutrition, post-secondary student nutrition, pre and post natal nutrition support, childhood feeding, and picky eating. If you need support in any of those areas or a different area please reach out and book a virtual appointment.
